Turning Tables

As the month nears its end, there has been a roller coaster of feelings. Not so much for myself, but for others I know. The ups of starting a new life together in marriage and welcoming babies into the world mix with the loss and mourning of loved ones. Much reflection was done as days and weeks went by, which was a reminder to myself to always be grateful. I don’t consider myself very religious, but I did also pray a bit more than usual. Everyone needs some type of support, and while we can’t always be physically present to do so, a word or two in passing, by any means of communication, could mean a great deal.

As for me, I will begin a seasonal work position tomorrow. I feel that this is the step I’ve been eagerly wanting to take in order to finally reach stability. It was a goal that I set for myself at the beginning of the year, and I’m happy that it was one of a few that I’ll be able to achieve. More positive in and negative out in order to keep moving forward.

” I know that through all the struggle
there’s a bright road at the end of the tunnel. Now you should know whatever your dilemma may be, you’ll learn life is worth it. Watch the tables turn.” - TLC

Amy Watkins turns her beloved old comic books into works of art that she calls PowerUpCollage. Based in Orlando, Florida, Amy up-cycles old comics by transforming them into awesomely eye-catching, onomatopoeic collages like the ones you see here.

"I love my comics too much to keep them in dusty long boxes in the closet. After I’ve read the stories and pored over the pictures, I want to enjoy my comics again, as a medium for new art. I sell original, handmade pieces—no prints here—constructed out of the amazing art of old comic books."

These originals pieces are available for purchase via Amy’s Etsy shop.

Freal though, can’t wait for this movie to come out.
